Phare, The Cambodian Circus is the only venue in Cambodia
featuring a daily theatrical circus show of international
Modern Cambodian tales are
embodied by a new generation of talented artists trained in
Battambang. The performances mix theatre, music, dance, acrobatics,
juggling, aerial acts, fire or contortion with an explosion of
virtuosity and sensitivity. During one hour, Phare performers
transmit emotions and excitement, blowing away the audience by
their integrity and power.
Set in the heart of Siem Reap
City, Phare circus tent can comfortably accommodate 360 spectators
and is specially designed to fulfill the acoustic needs of the live
music performances. On site, spectators can purchase light meals
and have a drink in the licensed restaurant.
Phare artists are graduates
from Phare Ponleu Selpak's vocational training center in Battambang
(www.phareps.org). Coming from vulnerable households
they gained international recognition through their art practice.

Every Saturday evening at 19h15, Dr. Beat Richner invites you to
the Jayavarman II Hospital to learn more about the activities of
this Children's hospital. You can enter for free. He will play for
you on his cello and in the meanwhile he will explain how the
hospital was established and what they do to treat as many children
The hospital is located on the way to
Angkor Wat. You can't miss the sign. During the day, you will see
long queues of people waiting outside with their children to meet
one of the doctors and get their children examined. All treatments
for the children are free. The hospital operates on donations, so
they welcome any money or blood donations. You can find more

Smile of Angkor is the first grand epic show
that revives the Angkor dynasty in all aspects, from the foundation
to the prosperity, from the tale to reality and past to present. It
expresses the original culture of Cambodia.
This splendid performance of 75 minutes
is directed by the Cambodia Culture and Fine Arts Ministry and the
team of the Closing Ceremony of the 2008 Olympic Games. The artists
will show you the story of how Angkor Wat was built and will reveal
you the secret of the smiling face of lord Avolokitesvara. Ths how
is a mix of traditional songs, dances and Khmer material art in
combination with 21st century technology like lasers, sound and
light effects. A part of the benefits of Smile of Angkor is
donated to two Cambodian schools for orphans. They perform daily at
19.15. Prices from 38$ to 48$ depending on the seat location and
50% discount for children between 4 and 12 years old. A ticket of
68$ includes dinner buffet from 18.00 to 19.15 and the Smile of
