Phare Circus, Cambodia’s innovative social enterprise supporting education and performing arts training, has announced its December schedule of performances. Book now for the dynamic and high-octane performances in ‘Khmer Metal’, ‘Same Same But Different’ and their hit new show ‘White Gold’, all delivered with their trademark enthusiasm, set to high-energy live music from Phare Circus musicians. In addition to the Big Top’s nightly performances at 8pm, you can now catch the same exhilarating shows at 5pm on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, from now until March.

Made in Cambodia Market features free live shows at the performance space amid the bustling market’s craft stalls. Check the schedule here. December performances include colourful and elegant traditional dancing and talented local musicians, on weekend evenings from 6pm. The philosophy behind the Made in Cambodia Market is to help create Khmer jobs; from the villagers producing the handicrafts to the sellers interacting with customers.

Also this month, you can shop a collection of monogrammable holiday accessories at the exclusive Personalization Gift Shop at T Galleria by DFS, Angkor.

December 2: The 23rd Angkor Wat International Half Marathon

Taking place in the historic setting of Angkor Wat, runners from all over the world will participate in support of a ban on the manufacture and use of anti-personnel mines. Entry fees fund vital support to victims, as well as Angkor Children’s Hospital and Kantha Bopha Hospital. Registration has now ended, but more information about the route can be found below, for those wanting to cheer the runners on!

On marathon day, there are several events for participants to join in. Here are some great ways for runners to recover and celebrate success:

December 5: Networking Happy Hour

December 7 & 8: Siem Reap Ocean In Motion Film Festival

The Ocean in Motion Film Festival brings the ocean to the community in a fun and entertaining way. The festival is run by Ocean Recovery Alliance, a non-profit organization based in Hong Kong and California. The event features a series of short and mid-length films, each one documenting the beauty, power, excitement and importance of the ocean.

December 7: Give Love on Christmas – Wine, Cheese and Charcuterie Night

December 9 – 18: Bound feet women of China exhibition

Come along to the opening reception for this exhibition of black and white photographs. BOUND, by the award winning artist Jo Farrell, merges the educational, the anthropological, the taboo, the social and the artistic, by showcasing a focused body of research on the practice of foot binding in China. The exhibition continues (Monday – Saturday, 10am – 6pm) until December 18.

December 13: LONDON CALLING – Grand opening

Celebrate the opening of TRIBE, an urban/contemporary art gallery showcasing international Urban Artists and looking to support and nurture contemporary Khmer artists. The opening show, London Calling, featuring the works of Pure Evil as part of his “around the world in 80 sprays” tour, runs until February 13.

December 29: Let Go And Recharge Yoga
